I’m reading “The Book of Joy” by the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and Douglas Abrams. The book discusses what cultivates happiness in our lives:

-
- “According to [Sonya] Lyubomirsky, the three factors that seem to have the greatest influence on increasing our happiness are our ability to reframe our situation more positively, our ability to experience gratitude, and our choice to be kind and generous.”

Other studies have also shown the connection between gratitude and happiness. So maybe feeling good on Thanksgiving isn’t just related to the turkey and mashed potatoes. Beyond sharing a good meal with our loved ones, taking the time to think about what we’re thankful for can boost our mood.
